Zwiedziłam całe wschodnie wybrzeże Stanów Zjednoczonych. Było super. Za rok znów chcę jechać, tym razem jednak w jakiejś inne miejsce. Znalazłam nawet innych chętnych do tej ekscytującej podróży.
Początkowo strasznie się bałam nowego miejsca a ta odległość od domu paraliżowała mnie. Gdy już dotarłam na miejsce moje obawy były niepotrzebne. Poznałam naprawdę świetnych ludzi a sama praca, mimo że ciężka, dawała dużo satysfakcji.
Najważniejsze czego nauczyłam się to wierzyć we własne siły. Teraz wiem żeby nie bać się nieznanego, a wręcz wychodzić temu naprzeciw.
Dlatego chciałabym powiedzieć każdemu nowemu aplikantowi że wakacje z Camp America są najlepszą drogą do poznania nowych ludzi i zwiedzania ciekawych miejsc, a przy tym poznania siebie."

WASSUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, so at the mo, I am in Orlando, Florida, having the time of my life. It is so hot and awesome here. Hard to believe that I am actually here. Anywho, the last couple of days I have been chillin out with Buzz Lightyear, Goofy, Sully and a whole bunch more Disney characters and I still have a few more to chill with. OK, so I have been to Disney MGM Studios, Blizzard Beach and EPCOT theme parks. So far, MGM has been the best for me. Oh I guess I should say that I am here with 9 others from Camp Stewart, only a few of the kewlest people I got to meet. Anywho, I have already promised my sister that I would bring her here to Disney as she and I would have the time of our lives.
So at MGM they have some of the most awesomest rides. Tower of Terror and Aerosmith were my all time favourite, we went on those a few times. Blizzard Beach we ended up leaving early as they closed down all the good rides, but we still had fun just chillaxin on the Cross Country ride. That ride you had a tube and lay on it and the current took you around the river which went around the entire park. It was awesome, the only thing though, it was rather hot and so we got rather sun burnt, even me, the person that just generally goes darker, I actually went red, but it was all good. At EPCOT, well I think I will side step that at the mo and write about that at a later date as I am still rather annoyed with the outcome of that experience.
So anywho, the resort that we are staying at, I have 3 words and they go like this - OH MY WORD. This place is like freakin awesome. Apparently its like a 5 star resort, it has 4 full 18 hole golf courses, movie theatre that is free, swimming pools, beach volleyball, squash tennis, the list goes on. It is so nice and relaxing and again, it is hard to believe that I am actually here and staying in a place like this. (Thanks Ratty)
The weather is AWESOME, rays rays and more rays, lapping it up and the time in the pool. The most chillaxin swimming I have done in about ................. oh my entire life. All I can say is that this, including camp, is an experience that I will never ever ever forget. I have made friends from all around the world and many of them will be life long friends, I love them all.
Anywho, I best be going, I need to go and get something to eat and need to catch up on sleep. One of things about Going to Disney theme parks with the guys, we are up early so that we can get there just as it opens so we can make the most of the day and be able to experience everything at least twice.

I have not enough time to tell you about all the great things i have experienced this summer at camp. I could go on forever about the summer and what a great experience it was. Camp Forest Acres was an amazing place and i loved the location (MAINE). We had amazing hot weather and the campers, counselors and all the people involved with camp FA are amazing. I have made so many new friends that are from all over the world and i cant wait to see them all in the future. I am still travelling the US at the moment in a hostel in San Diego. I stayed with a camper in New York in her appartment in NYC for a night after camp and have already been intouch with all 23 of my campers that where in my cabin this summer. I hope to go back next summer for another amazing summer.

I am in Wisconsin Dells and I work with special needs kids and I feel this is a
very rewarding job. It is a lot of hard work but I put my heart into it and just
love the kids. The staff here are so loving and caring. There are 3 South
Africans at camp, and every one is very friendly and it is so much fun. I am
grateful that I have been given this precious opportunity. I am sad as there are
only 2 more weeks of camp. I have made many new friends and will miss them. I am
going to tour after and then back home.

We have been at camp now for 2 weeks. It is very nice. We had our first week
with campers. Everything here is different. The cars look different, the
houses look different and so many other things. It is very humid. Everybody is
very friendly. There are international staff from 14 different countries at my

I can tell you I am having an absolute ball. I have just got back from a term
break which was spent with the parents of one of the campers. They invited about
10 of us to spend a few days at their home in San Antonio. They have also
invited us to spend the next break at their holiday home. I have met so many
people and made some great friends already. We will probably do a bit of
travelling in Mexico when we finish at the camp.

Thanks, camp is going great, a couple problems my side, fell down the stairs,
burnt myself with an iron, broke the lamp shade with my back jumping from the
top bunk, couple scratches, then fell off the top sometime in the night and hurt
my leg, other than that, all good!! Will definitely be travelling and making our
way to Florida, Mexico, LA and Vegas. Camp is good but the weather has far too
many mood swings, went to the New York Yankee's vs Detroit Tigers Baseball game
on Sunday, was great. Thank you...... See you soon...

Well I arrived in New York on Friday 11/06 and I stayed with my uncle in New
Jersey for the weekend. Then on Tuesday I took a Greyhound bus to Goshen,
Massachusetts and I've been having fun since I came here. Once again thank you
so much for having faith in me, I'm working with a wonderful staff from all over
the world and we have a counsellor called Leon from South Africa and a Zambian
lady called Sarah. Thanks a million!

I am very sorry to say that quite a few of the kids have been terrors, but
luckily even some of those terrors have given their lives to Christ through the
summer. Some things have gone wrong and I need to deal with them as program
director. Our water lines burst and the parking lot needed dug up to fix it. We
have some odd situations with the staff, as well as some with campers. In the
first week of camp our lake rose 10 feet in 4 days and this closed the
waterfront and made things a lot harder for staff to deal with. but we made it
through and the water level is almost down to normal. But, like I said, great
things are happening here and we are having a great time. Thank you for your
wise words and for all your support.

facilities and only 2 hours away from New York. I have met some really

Camp is really great thanks!! Having a wonderful time and have made tons of
great friends. I also found some other South Africans so that is really good. We
also went on camping trip to Booth Bay about 3 hours away and to Portland for a
baseball game the other day, so really getting to see this part of America with
the campers.

I really cant thank you enough for the opportunity you gave me to meet so many
wonderful people and to 'experience the presence of God'. This camp is exactly
what I needed to really come closer to God and start appreciating the finer
things in life. From here I am going to NY with Mike Ortiz, and then on to
Philadelphia for a while and hopefully on to Florida after that. I really wish I
had longer! Are you still coming later in the summer? If so I look forward to

Hey all
Arrived in Manhattan last night and am totally amazed. Visited ground zero and
had my first ride on the subway. It was good and I am looking forward to the
rest of the week. Tonight we plan on going to Staten Island and going on the
ferry. The people that I am staying with are very hospitable and really want to
show me what this city has to offer. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and

I can't believe that I've been in the USA for 8 weeks. The time flew by and I
have a lot of good memories. My time at camp is drawing to an end. I'm still in
America for another month. My summer was awesome, I learned and grew so much!
I'm currently visiting a friend of mine, made at camp in Richmond, Virginia.
Next week I'll take a bus to Boston and then to Swanton Vermont, where I'll stay
for 2 weeks. Will contact you as soon as I'm back in sunny South Africa. Thank

I'm sad today because it was the last day of camp and I can't stop crying as I
had to say goodbye to all of my campers. I'm in Buffalo at the moment and I will
be going to Las Vegas on Sunday and California and will be back on Wednesday. I
have had an absolutely fabulous time here in New York and made a lot of new
friends from all over the world. Hey surprisingly I've never missed home since
the day of my arrival. I really love it here.
